Do you work on SCADA and operational technology?
We do network segmentation and DMZ design work separating control networks from business networks, and we are deliberately conservative about it. Our position is that on operational technology the priority is isolation, architecture review, and change discipline — not active testing against live control systems. Where deeper OT security work is warranted we will say so and help you scope it appropriately.
Can you work within our procurement and council approval process?
Yes. Statements of work are written to survive a procurement review — deliverables, assumptions, responsibilities, and a schedule of fees stated explicitly — and project timelines are built around council or board approval cycles and fiscal year boundaries rather than assuming an immediate start.
We have one IT person and no depth. Can you be the backup?
That is a very common arrangement in smaller agencies. Your person keeps the relationships and institutional knowledge; we provide specialist depth and after-hours cover so a single vacancy or a single vacation does not become a continuity risk.
How do you handle records retention in backup design?
Retention is set from your statutory obligations rather than from a product default. We map the requirement to configured retention on each platform, verify immutability where the record class warrants it, and document the mapping so it can be shown to a records officer or an auditor.
