Epic IT Support

For businesses

Managed IT services with real engineering behind them

Most managed IT is a help desk with monitoring bolted on, and it works right up until something genuinely difficult happens. We run the day-to-day the same way everyone does — and then handle the Linux server, the Azure migration, and the security assessment in house rather than subcontracting them.

  • Help desk with a defined, written coverage window
  • Proactive patching, monitoring, and backup verification
  • Server, network, and Microsoft 365 administration
  • Senior engineering escalation without a second vendor
  • Documentation maintained as a deliverable
  • Quarterly business reviews and roadmap planning

What we deliver

Support your staff will actually use

A help desk that resolves the problem rather than closing the ticket, with coverage matched to when your people work.

  • Help desk by phone, email, and portal within a defined coverage window
  • Remote support with screen sharing for anything that needs to be seen
  • Named engineers who learn your environment instead of rotating strangers
  • Onboarding and offboarding runbooks so staff changes stop being ad-hoc
  • Escalation into senior engineering without a second vendor or a second contract

Proactive monitoring and maintenance

Most of the tickets you raise today are preventable. This is the work that prevents them.

  • Monitoring across servers, network, endpoints, and cloud services
  • Patch management on a schedule, with tested rollback and maintenance windows
  • Backup verification — checking that jobs restore, not merely that they ran
  • Hardware and license lifecycle tracking with renewal warnings well in advance
  • Capacity and performance trending so growth is planned rather than discovered

Network and infrastructure administration

Ownership of the layer everything else depends on, kept documented and current.

  • Firewall, switch, and wireless administration and firmware lifecycle
  • Server and virtualization platform management across VMware, Hyper-V, and Linux
  • Microsoft 365 and Entra ID tenant administration
  • VPN and remote access management with modern authentication
  • Documentation kept current as a deliverable, not as an afterthought

Virtual CIO and IT strategy

The planning conversation that turns IT spend from a series of emergencies into a budget.

  • Quarterly business reviews covering risk, spend, and roadmap
  • Multi-year technology roadmap and refresh planning tied to your budget cycle
  • Vendor management and renewal negotiation support
  • Budget forecasting for capital and recurring technology spend
  • Board and leadership reporting in language a non-technical audience can act on

How it runs

From first call to sign-off

Every engagement is governed by a written statement of work naming deliverables, assumptions, and who is responsible for what.

  1. Discovery and documentation

A full inventory of what exists, what is supported, what is exposed, and what nobody has written down. This is week one, before any commitment to a monthly number.

  2. Remediation plan

A prioritized list of what needs fixing, separated into what is urgent, what is budgetable, and what can wait. Nearly every environment has urgent items nobody knew about.

  3. Transition and stabilisation

Monitoring, patching, and backup brought under management, with the urgent remediation cleared before we call the transition complete.

  4. Steady state and review

Ongoing support against the agreed coverage window, with quarterly business reviews covering risk, spend, incidents, and the roadmap.

Questions

What people ask

Managed IT services with real engineering behind them — questions

What are your support hours?

Coverage is defined in your agreement rather than assumed. Most clients take business-hours coverage with after-hours escalation for outages; environments that genuinely run around the clock take 24/7. We would rather write down exactly what you are buying than advertise a number that comes with asterisks.

Can you work with our existing internal IT person?

Yes, and it is a good model. Your internal person keeps the relationships and the institutional knowledge; we bring the specialist depth — Linux, cloud architecture, security, disaster recovery — and after-hours cover so they are not the single point of failure. We are explicitly comfortable being the second team.

What does onboarding involve for our staff?

Very little disruption. Most of the work is behind the scenes: discovery, documentation, monitoring deployment, and remediation. Your staff mainly need to learn one new way to reach the help desk. We publish that clearly and repeat it during the first few weeks.

Do you charge extra for after-hours or projects?

Anything inside your agreed scope and coverage window is covered by the monthly fee. Work outside it — a migration, a refresh, an assessment — is quoted separately with a written statement of work so you approve the number before it is incurred. No surprise invoices.

What if we already have tools we like?

We will use them where they are doing the job. There is no benefit to ripping out a working backup product or RMM just to standardize. Where a tool is genuinely leaving a gap, we will explain what it is not covering and let you decide.

Discovery and documentation come before any monthly number. You keep the findings regardless of whether we work together.
